Apart from being a great story and finding Frank incredibly inspiring he shared with the listeners that when he took over, his son (who was also employed in a Home Deport store) suggested that he use the book Built from Scratch to help guide his leadership. Frank’s son shared with his father how, within the store, they’d read from the book as a team. So I bought a copy. The book may have been written in 1999 but it is literally full of great advice and demonstrates the power of purpose, identity and culture to deliver outstanding results.”
