The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck (Mark Manson) visuals synopsis by Dani Saveker
This book has caught my eye on bookshelves for a while now and it seemed a fitting book for the current lockdown. From several pages in, I was hooked. Mark Manson writes in a straightforward and easy to digest way, about a topic close to everyone’s heart… how to live a fulfilled and satisfying life.
As with all of the books I capture, I was looking for the areas that resonate with the GLAS framework and in the case of this book, his explanation of owning our problems and our choices fits perfectly. The way in which Mark also explains the need for equilibrium and how not to fall into being a victim of, or in denial of, our problems is similar to the GLAS 3 states of balance.
The other big take away, which we also explain to clients, is the importance of not chasing a life that we believe is expected of us - and one that exists in a state of frustration and comparisons. Instead, working to find a framework to live each day with meaning and small steps - and to know that as we are is simply enough.
Overall this is a highly recommended book and one that I have already gifted to others.
